This month, we are thrilled to honor
(I’ll hand the mic over to her now. You’ll see how awesome she is pretty quickly.)
I’m so thrilled to be honored in this way by Clean Indie Reads. I can’t think of any organization in writing that means more to me. I truly feel I’ve received as much or more than I’ve given.
When I joined CIR in the spring of 2014, I was a new writer who knew nothing about Facebook, Twitter, blogging, or marketing. Every question I asked was quickly answered by generous folks with more knowledge and experience. So of course, when I became rather adept at Twitter, I was glad to be able to be able to return the favor. I’ve retweeted the Clean Indie Reads hashtag, #CR4U, almost forty thousand times now, in addition to sending out individual tweets for CIR and fellow authors. With a personal account of over forty-one thousand, I feel I can truly amplify our Twitter reach. I also developed a PowerPoint entitled, Twitter Tips, and contributed it to the Clean Indie Reads Files. I’ve also shared detailed facts and figures of my marketing attempts, hoping to help others find the best values in purchasing advertising while avoiding my mistakes.
Anything else I’ve done in supporting my fellow authors of clean books through marketing, mentoring, or advice, is no more than returning the favors done for me by others this great group. It’s great for my confidence to be the one mentoring instead of the one begging for help.
The fact that I’ve been a dentist for over thirty years is common knowledge, but I have a few secrets of which only my closer friends are aware. I sing and play the piano, flute, guitar, and harmonica, and have composed quite a few songs in my lifetime. I love turtles. I watched Spiderman Two in the theatre seven times. My favorite books are The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. And finally… because of a midlife crisis, I went back to school and earned a Masters degree in Higher Education and bought a Mini Cooper convertible.
Check out her contemporary romance and young adult fantasy novels!
