Sarah Johnson

Can’t get enough of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice? Neither can Sarah Johnson, so she’s written many, many stories based on the beloved characters from that tome … all while raising and educating six children who range in age from six to eighteen! When not writing or teaching, she can often be found crafting or, like any self-respecting author, reading. “Some of my favorites are Pride & Prejudice, Little Women, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the Chronicles of Narnia, The Cost of Discipleship, and In the Dust of the Rabbi.

Usually, winners of the CIR Strong Award are selected by the admin team alone, but Sarah was nominated by one of her fellow members who had received much-needed help. Upon further investigation, we discovered this was Sarah’s pattern. Not as chatty in the thread, she works behind the scenes helping other writers understand the ins-and-outs of independent publishing and offering helpful story advice for other Pride & Prejudice fan fiction authors. “One of my favorite things to do is talk with others about the process of writing and publishing, and before we moved last spring, my mom and I were actively involved in a Christian writer’s guild in our area. We have not found one like it since we moved – we may have to start that on our own – but I have been blessed with having found the wonderful CIR community online. It is always my intention to try to ease the burden for others, as I struggled by myself to learn the self-publishing world on my own when I first began. I also love the support for clean stories. It is always so enjoyable to know I can share my CIR friend’s books with my contacts and not have to worry about inappropriate content in the books.”
