Anne Best is a forty-five-year-old widow from Weatherford, Texas. With her two daughters grown and out of the house, she feels a loss of purpose. To her great surprise, she lands the job as a secretary for Steven Gherring, the fifty-year-old billionaire bachelor who owns Gherring Inc. Anne leaves her safe home for a new adventure in the Big Apple. Confusion, poor communication, interruptions, old girlfriends, misfortune, and bad timing contribute to the roller-coaster ride to the inevitable happy ending, with lots of laughs along the way.
“Anne Best, the sweet empty nester from Texas, definitely left me encouraged to look for the best in others and also to get to know the people I come across in my day to day life. Very refreshing!”
“I can’t remember the last time I got so worked up over fictional characters! I laughed, I cried, I got exasperated, then I laughed a whole lot more.”
Emily Best, who loves ballet, art and reading, tries to adhere to her strict household dating rules and hold her heart in check, but she’s thrown off-balance by her crazy attraction to Spencer, a handsome, athletic, outdoors enthusiast with the reputation of a player. But Spencer has a secret . . . He’s never kissed a girl!
“I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to escape into a fun (and innocent) love story!”
“Emily and Spencer embody the essence of young love, with its excitement and its awkwardness.”
Everyone knows Grace is spicy, fun, prone to mishaps, and little bit crazy. But though she encourages others to find love, she’s terrified to make the same kind of commitment herself.
Brad’s kisses make her knees go weak along with her self-control. So she determines to end their relationship before she becomes too emotionally attached. Too late, she realizes her actions were a mistake.
Now she wants him back, but klutziness and awful luck conspire to keep them apart. Add a mischievous brother and a terrible shrew to the mix, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.
“I laughed until I cried at the crazy enactment of the Marshall Rules. This book is a true delight and definitely a clean read. I urge anyone who loves a bit of romance to pick this one up immediately.”
“This is a moving yet light story that I found hard to put down. The story line is fresh, characters real, and the book just flowed. A great read!!”
“I laughed, I cried, I fell in love.”
“A great read for anyone looking for a spectacular romantic comedy!”
Peek inside the head of Steven Gherring the first time he meets Anne!
“Romance is in the air and this is the Best way to breath it in.”
“I loved the shift in perspective. It added so much to the drama and mystique of Her Best Match.”
“A fun teaser for Tamie Dearen’s first book.”
Author note: Her Best Match was my first novel. Before that, I’ve only written poems and songs. But I wanted to show that love and romance wasn’t just for young people, thus I envisioned Anne Best, my forty-five-year-old widow. When I realized my life was half over, I dreamed about beginning a new adventure in life–starting over. For me, that was a new Master’s Degree and a career in writing. For Anne, it was a new life in New York City.
